Reverse description The Lion of Judah, the traditional imperial symbol of Ethiopia, stands in profile facing right in the centre of the field, with its right foreleg raised and resting on a staff or sceptre. The crowned lion bears a cross-tipped banner over its back. Above the lion, a Ge'ez legend arcs across the upper field, while the engraver's signature 'LA GRANGE' appears in the mid-field. The denomination legend in Ge'ez script is placed along the lower portion of the coin within a beaded border.
