Below the ground line, the engraver's signature 'LAGRANGE' appears in Latin script with the Paris mint mark 'A' at center, flanked by the denomination inscription in Ge'ez script reading 'ye-birr alad' (Half Birr). The design is rendered in crisp, deeply engraved relief typical of the Monnaie de Paris workshop. |
