Reverse description The Lion of Judah, rampant and passant to the right, wearing an imperial crown and holding an upright processional cross in its raised right forepaw, standing on a ground line. The circular Ge'ez legend around the upper field reads 'Moa Anbessa Ze-imnegede Yihuda' (Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah). Below the ground line, the engraver's signature 'LAGRANGE' appears in Latin script with the Paris mint mark 'A' at center, flanked by the denomination inscription in Ge'ez script reading 'ye-birr alad' (Half Birr). The design is rendered in crisp, deeply engraved relief typical of the Monnaie de Paris workshop.
