Obverse description Centrally placed pointed-top shield bearing the arms of Lucerne, divided per pale: the dexter half is cross-hatched and strewn with pellets, the sinister half plain. Above the shield, an eagle displayed faces left, serving as a heraldic supporter. The surrounding legend is rendered in mixed Gothic and Roman script. The overall composition is characteristic of late-medieval Swiss municipal coinage.
