Obverse description Central device comprising the ornate oval arms of Lucerne — a vertically divided shield bearing a pale — set within an elaborately scrolled cartouche and surmounted by a crown. The shield and cartouche are enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, interrupted at the top by the date, reads *1795* MON·NOVA·REIP·LUCERNEN, with the entire design bounded by a finely toothed outer border.
