(Translation: Money of Solothurn)
Reverse description Half-length or bust effigy of Saint Ursus, the patron saint of Solothurn, facing right in profile, depicted bearded and clad in armour with ornamental detailing on the breastplate. The figure is set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding circular Latin legend, divided by cross and star ornaments, names the saint and incorporates the date in separated numerals. The engraving is characteristic of provincial Swiss hammered coinage of the mid-16th century, with a somewhat bold and naive treatment of the figure.
