The Roman numeral date M·D·XV (or M·D·XVI) appears prominently above the shield in the upper field. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circular legend running along the outer margin in Gothic-influenced Latin lettering. The hammered flan exhibits typical irregular contours consistent with early sixteenth-century German municipal coinage. |
