Additional information

Panama's convent commemorative series has drawn on the country's colonial religious architecture since the early 2000s, issued primarily for the domestic collector market rather than circulation. The Convent of the Conception, founded in Panama City in 1597, was among the earliest convents established on the Pacific coast of the Americas — its cistern one of the few structural elements to survive the 1671 pirate sack that leveled the original city.
