Reverse description The denomination and mint designation are inscribed in four horizontal lines across the central field, reading MEZZO, BAIOCCO, ROM., and the date 1826, all within a finely executed decorative wreath composed of olive and laurel branches tied at the base. The wreath is enclosed by a beaded inner border, itself surrounded by a further ring of ornamental leaf and berry motifs. The plain outer rim frames the entire composition. The lettering is bold and upright in a Roman serif style consistent with Papal State coinage of the period.
