| 正面描述 | Central device comprises the Royal Crown of Siam (Mongkut) resting upon a tiered lotus-form pedestal, flanked on either side by a tall multi-tiered Royal Umbrella (Chatra) mounted on ornate bases. Radiating sunbeams emanate from the apex of the crown toward the upper field. The entire composition is rendered in high relief against a smooth field, enclosed within a beaded inner border and a finely reeded outer rim, reflecting the traditional royal regalia of the Chakri dynasty. |

In 1869, Rama V had not yet formally ascended — he was crowned in November of that year at age fifteen, following a regency period after his father's death in 1868. Pattern coinage struck around the coronation period reflects the palace's ongoing negotiations with Western powers over monetary modernization, as Siam was under considerable pressure to adopt a decimalized system compatible with foreign trade. This piece in medal alignment — rather than the coin alignment of circulating issues — marks it unambiguously as a presentation or trial striking, never intended for commerce.
