Reverse description The reverse presents a large sailing ship — the so-called 'angel ship' — viewed from the side, with a prominent mast rising from the hull and a cross-and-shield device at the masthead. The hull is depicted riding stylised waves, with rigging lines radiating from the mast top. At the centre of the ship's hull is the quartered royal shield of England and France, flanked by a sun and a rose, emblems of the House of York. The regal legend EDWARD DI GRA REX ANG Z FRA is inscribed in Gothic uncial lettering within the beaded border surrounding the entire composition.
