| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold, interlaced Arabic calligraphic inscription arranged in multiple lines, bearing the royal titles and name of Imam Ahmad. The legends radiate outward from the center in a characteristic Yemeni calligraphic style, with the mint name reading outward toward the dentilated border.
