Obverse description Central device depicting the facade of the Mosque of the Cloak of the Prophet (Khirqa Sharif) in Kandahar, rendered in detailed architectural relief with a central dome flanked by two minarets. Two Afghan flags are displayed to the left and right of the mosque. The composition is encircled by a wreath of olive and wheat branches tied at the base, with the Solar Hijri date in Eastern Arabic numerals (١٣٤٨) inscribed below the mosque in the lower field.
