Obverse description Central field occupied by a two-line Nastaliq Arabic legend arranged in a ship-like cartouche, reading the royal coin formula of Emperor Alamgir II. The regnal year ١١٧٢ (AH 1172) appears prominently above the central legend band. Small floral or pellet ornaments are distributed symmetrically in the field flanking the inscriptions. The design follows the conventional Mughal sikka format adapted for East India Company Madras Presidency coinage. The granular milled border frames the entire composition.
