Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the traditional Brunswick wild horse (Sachsenross) is depicted in high relief, rearing and leaping to the left with flowing mane and tail. The date 1704 appears in the exergue below the horse. The surrounding legend, separated by pellets, reads D.G.RUD.AUG.&ANT.ULR.DDB&L, denoting the joint rule of Dukes Rudolph August and Anthony Ulrich of Brunswick and Lüneburg, disposed in Latin script around the full circumference of the coin.
