Obverse description Unadorned bare head of King George V of Hannover facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a short beard. The circumferential legend reads GEORG V. V. G. G. KOENIG V. HANNOVER, with the mintmark B appearing in the lower field below the truncation. The portrait is executed in a naturalistic mid-19th century style, with the effigy occupying the majority of the coin's field. A fine toothed border frames the design.
