Obverse description Left-facing diademed effigy of Queen Victoria with loosely braided hair gathered into a chignon, engraved in high relief after the design by Leonard Charles Wyon. The truncation of the bust is bare, and the portrait is set within a continuous beaded border. The circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, interrupted by a small six-pointed star positioned centrally below the bust in the lower field.
