Reverse description The heraldic shield of Jersey — charged with three leopards passant guardant or, arranged in pale — occupies the central field, flanked on either side by the four digits of the date divided by the shield. The inscription STATES OF JERSEY arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination ONE TWELFTH OF A SHILLING curves along the lower periphery, all separated from the coin's toothed border by a fine inner rim. The overall design, executed by George Kruger Gray, presents a bold and well-centred heraldic composition with clear, evenly spaced lettering.
