| Obverse description | Youthful laureate and draped bust of Louis XV facing right, his long curly hair falling to the shoulder in the baroque style. The portrait, engraved by Norbert Roettiers, presents the young king with a laurel wreath, armored pauldron, and lace cravat visible at the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, separated from the portrait by a beaded inner border. The field is smooth and slightly convex, characteristic of early milled French royal coinage. |
