The shield is divided into quarters showing the fleurs-de-lis of France and the chains of Navarre, with vertical stripes at the base consistent with Aragonese heraldry. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, incorporating the date 1642, and identifying Louis XIII as Prince of Catalonia. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner rim. |
