Obverse description The obverse features a central round perforation surrounded by a bilingual legend reading the denomination and royal titles. A decorative imperial crown is prominently displayed at the top of the field, flanked by scroll-work cartouches bearing the inscription ONE TENTH OF A PENNY in English. The Latin legend EDWARDVS VIII REX ET IND:IMP: runs along the upper periphery, while the Arabic legend عشر البنّي appears in the lower field below the central hole. The design is contained within a beaded border and exhibits a plain, non-portrait style consistent with the West African Currency Board's holed coinage tradition.
