Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Juliana, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair adorned with a jewelled diadem and floral ornament. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The encircling legend reads JULIANA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN, separated at the base by a raised dot, with the queen's name beginning at lower left. The portrait is the work of engraver Ludwig Oswald Wenckebach and conveys a dignified, classical style consistent with Dutch royal coinage of the mid-twentieth century.
