Obverse description Youthful draped bust of Louis XV facing right, the hair arranged in elaborate loose curls falling to the shoulder, engraved by Norbert Roettiers. The portrait is set within a beaded inner border, with the royal Latin legend disposed around the periphery. The truncation of the bust shows armored drapery. The effigy reflects the early child-king representation characteristic of the first years of Louis XV's reign.

Reverse description Crowned oval shield bearing the arms of France — three fleurs-de-lis arranged two over one — set at center within a plain field. A royal crown of France surmounts the escutcheon. The date appears within the circular Latin legend, which references Psalm 113, disposed around the periphery between beaded borders. A mint mark letter appears in the lower exergual area below the shield.
