| Reverse description | The reverse is struck in high relief in the form of the funerary death mask of Tutankhamun, the ancient Egyptian pharaoh, with the coin itself shaped to replicate the contours of the mask. The youthful idealized face of the pharaoh is shown facing forward, adorned with the striped nemes headdress rendered in finely detailed horizontal bands. The uraeus cobra and a central element rise prominently from the forehead, while the braided false beard descends from the chin in relief. The surfaces of the nemes lappets and collar area are rendered with meticulous detail, faithfully evoking the iconic golden funerary mask housed in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. No legends or inscriptions appear on the reverse. |
