Obverse description The obverse presents a vignette of Takenouchi no Sukune, a legendary Japanese statesman, in full ceremonial regalia at right, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. To the left, a detailed architectural vignette of a Shinto shrine set within a landscape occupies the central-left field. The denomination 千圓 (1000 Yen) appears in large characters centrally, with the imperial chrysanthemum crest at top center, serial numbers in black at upper left and lower right, and a red seal of the Bank of Japan at lower left.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by two large circular guilloche rosettes at left and right, each enclosing the character 圓 and 千 respectively, set against an elaborate geometric underprint. The Bank of Taiwan red overprint stamps appear in the central field alongside the vertical inscription 臺灣銀行, with additional red seal impressions. The denomination 1000 YEN is printed in Western numerals at the bottom center, flanked by repeated numeral vignettes in the lower corners.
