| Opmerkingen |
The 1000 Tolar note was among the last series issued before Slovenia's euro adoption on 1 January 2007, which rendered the entire Tolar coinage and note series obsolete almost immediately. The Tolar itself had only existed since 1991, when Slovenia became the first Yugoslav republic to introduce its own currency following independence — a remarkably brief monetary lifespan for a note printed as late as 2005.
Giesecke & Devrient had handled Slovenian banknote production throughout much of the Tolar period. The security specification on this denomination is notably modest for a high-value note, limited to a watermark and a single security thread — no color-shifting ink, no intaglio printing recorded in the reference data.
