The P#47 is the last 1,000 Sk note Slovakia ever issued — production ceased in 2008 as the country finalized preparations for euro adoption, which came on 1 January 2009. The entire koruna series was demonetized that year, making this the terminal type of the denomination.
Österreichische Staatsdruckerei in Vienna had printed Slovak banknotes throughout much of the koruna period, an arrangement that continued uninterrupted even as Slovakia joined NATO in 2004 and moved decisively toward eurozone accession.
