正面描述 The obverse is printed in black on cream paper and dated '1° de Enero de 1864' at the top centre. The bank title 'El Banco y Casa de Moneda de Buenos Ayres' runs in bold letterpress across the upper register, flanked on the left by an oval vignette of the Argentine coat of arms and on the right by a small oval vignette of a bull. The denomination is rendered in large ornate script as 'MIL PESOS Moneda Corriente', with a bold numeral '1000' in a serrated cartouche at lower left alongside a circular vignette of a reclining bull, the whole composition finished with elaborate scroll and foliate guilloche ornaments.

备注

The Banco y Casa de Moneda de Buenos Ayres occupied an unusual position — it was simultaneously a bank of issue and a mint, a dual function that reflected the Argentine provinces' struggle to establish credible monetary infrastructure independent of, and often in competition with, the national government in Buenos Aires. By 1864 the institution was operating under considerable political strain, as the question of provincial versus national banking authority remained unresolved following the 1862 unification under Mitre.

PS# prefix places this firmly in the Specialized catalogue's provincial and private issues — not a national emission. At the 1,000 peso denomination, this was not everyday transactional paper.
