Opmerkingen

The BCEAO's long-running signature rotation across this series reflects the union's unusual governance structure: the two signatories represent the BCEAO Governor and the rotating national minister, meaning a note's date can sometimes help identify which of the eight member states held the presiding ministerial seat that year. José Mário Vaz, who signed the 2011 and 2012 issues before becoming President of Guinea-Bissau in 2014, is probably the most politically notable name in the run.

The CFA franc's fixed parity with the euro — set at 655.957 francs per euro since the 1999 conversion from the French franc — means this denomination has carried exactly the same real value relative to its anchor currency for over two decades.
