| Obverse description | Horizontal cheque-format note with handwritten date 'Praia, 4 de Julho 1924' at upper right and serial number with series designation at upper left. At left, an oval intaglio vignette in blue depicts a steamship motif enclosed by branch ornaments and the bank's branch inscriptions. The body carries manuscript text in Portuguese recording the promise to pay one thousand escudos in notes of the province of Cabo Verde, authenticated by the circular ink stamp of the 'Banco Nacional Ultramarino, Filial de Santiago' and two handwritten signatures. |
