| Obverse lettering | THE BANK OF CANADA OTTAWA ISSUE OF 1935 WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS 1000 CANADIAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, LIMITED |
| Reverse description | Printed in olive-green intaglio, the reverse centres on a classical allegorical vignette within a circular frame, presenting a seated female figure accompanied by a winged cherub, rendered in a fine engraved style consistent with early twentieth-century security printing. Large '1000' counter numerals occupy the left and right panels, set within ornate guilloche border work. 'BANK OF CANADA' is inscribed across the top of the note, and 'ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS' runs along the lower border, with the printer's imprint 'CANADIAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, LIMITED' at the bottom centre. |
