Graft, corruption, human trafficking, terrorism and drug addiction; these are just a few of the problems plaguing our nation. But change is coming! The Bible says that Jesus is coming soon and He will make all things new. He will wipe away every tear, there will be no death, mourning or crying (Rev. 21:4-5). But, when He comes, He will require everyone to give an account of what he has done (Rom. 14:12). Have you ever lied, stolen or used God's name in vain (Ex. 20:1-17)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Mt. 5:28). If you have done such things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart and you will be given what you deserve - eternal punishment in Hell (Rev. 21:8). But thanks be to God who is not willing that any should perish (2 Pe. 3:9). He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a godly and sinless life, to die on the cross in order to pay for the penalty of our sins. Then Jesus rose from the dead and now reigns forever at the side of the Father. How, then, should we respond to this good news? "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" (Jn. 3:16). You can't earn eternal life. It is God's gift to all who humble themselves and come to Jesus. Repent and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord today (Acts 20:21). Turn from your sins into the arms of the Savior. Flee from the wrath to come and seek refuge in the Prince of Peace. He will forgive your sins and make you into a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). Read your Bible daily and obey it.
