| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is framed by a decorative border of repeating interlaced Gothic 'W' and 'B' monograms printed in red and black, referencing the issuing institution. The bank name 'Württembergische Notenbank' is inscribed in Gothic script across the upper register, below which the denomination 'Eine Million Mark' is rendered in bold black letterpress calligraphy over a fine ochre guilloche underprint. The lower section carries the date '15. Juni 1923', the place of issue 'Stuttgart', a statutory counterfeiting penalty clause in Gothic text, two manuscript signatures, and an oval red 'WNB' monogram seal at lower left. |

| Opmerkingen |
The Württembergische Notenbank was one of four private German regional note-issuing banks still operating alongside the Reichsbank when hyperinflation peaked in 1923. Unlike Reichsbank issues, these regional notes were technically liabilities of a private institution — though in practice the distinction meant little to anyone spending marks by the wheelbarrow. The million-mark denomination, unthinkable even two years prior, was itself obsolescent almost immediately after printing; by late 1923 the Reichsbank was issuing hundred-trillion-mark notes.
Stuttgart-printed throughout the inflation series, the Württembergische notes are generally better produced than many emergency municipal issues of the same period.
