| Obverse description | Printed in orange-red on cream paper, the obverse is a cheque-style Notgeld voucher (Gutschein) with a decorative floral guilloche border running along all four edges. The central text field, set in letterpress, carries the denomination Mark 1 000 000.— in large bold type with the written-out equivalent (Eine Million Mark) below; the issuing date 14. Aug. 1923 and place Aachen appear in the lower left, while the issuer's name MANNESMANN-MULAG (Motoren- und Lastwagen-Akt.-Ges.) with a manuscript signature occupies the lower right. A diagonal black overprint reading Nur zur bargeldlosen Verrechnung crosses the left quadrant from lower-left to upper-right, and a serial number box in the upper right carries the manuscript number. |
