| Obverse description | Printed on a warm ochre-orange guilloche underprint, the note carries the denomination in large Gothic blackletter script — "Eine Million Mark" — at centre, with a large numeral "1" in the underprint at left and the figure "1000000" reading vertically at right. At top, the heading "Gutschein über" is set in Roman type, while the issuing authority "Bergbau=Akt.=Gef. Lothringen" and the place and date of issue "Gerthe i. W., den 13. August 1923" appear below the denomination. A manuscript signature is applied beneath the issuer's name, and a three-line redemption notice in small Gothic type occupies a ruled panel at the foot of the note. |
