Obverse description Printed in reddish-brown on white paper by letterpress, the obverse carries two allegorical vignettes flanking the central text field: at left, a seated bishop in full vestments consults an open tome, and at right, a seated noblewoman in Renaissance dress writes with a quill. The central cartouche renders the denomination and payment obligation in Gothic blackletter script, with the date 'Lauingen a. D., 14. 8. 1923' and two manuscript signatures over the titles 'Stadtrat' and 'Stadtkasse' appearing below. A circular red official stamp reading 'Genehmigt vom Reichsfinanzministerium am 13. 8. 1923' and the serial number in the lower right corner complete the face, with the printer's imprint in small Fraktur type along the bottom margin.
