| Obverse description | The left third of the note is occupied by a vertical vignette in green, rendered in an expressionist style, with an industrial mining headframe and colliery buildings characteristic of the Ruhr region, beneath which the series letter and serial number appear in a ruled panel. The right portion carries a dense brown guilloche underprint over which the denomination 'Eine Million Mark' is set in large Gothic blackletter script, with '1 000 000' numerals repeated at each corner. The lower text panel gives the issue date 'Bochum den 6. Aug. 1923', the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat der Stadt Bochum', and facsimile signatures of the Oberbürgermeister and Bürgermeister. |
