| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in blue-green on white paper and consists of two panels. The left stub panel carries a central vignette of a caduceus — the winged staff entwined by two serpents — set against a fine guilloche underprint of interlocking geometric and foliate motifs, with the series designation and serial number printed vertically in black. The main right panel bears the issuer's name 'Stadt Crefeld' in bold gothic lettering at the top, with the denomination 'Eine Million Mark' in large black blackletter script over a guilloche background; four corner medallions contain small heraldic vignettes. Below the denomination, a payment clause in gothic script states the obligation of the Stadthauptkasse Crefeld, followed by the place and date 'Crefeld, den 1.
