| Description de l’avers | The obverse is set against a fine guilloche cross-hatched underprint with ornate rosette medallions at each corner and vertical side panels inscribed 'STADT OHLIGS' in letterpress. The denomination '1 Million Mark' is rendered in large bold display type at centre, with the numeral '1.000.000' below, flanked by a decorative vignette of interlocking scrollwork. At the lower section, a two-line redemption clause is printed to the left, the date 'Ohligs, 15. August 1923' to the right alongside the circular city stamp and the manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister, with the printer's imprint 'Kunstanstalt Hermann Rabitz, Solingen' at the foot. |

To the left, a large heraldic vignette of the Ohligs civic coat of arms — a crenellated tower above a shield charged with five stars and a winged wheel — occupies approximately one-third of the field. To the right, a framed central panel carries the authorisation text in Fraktur script, flanked by two large ornate guilloche rosette medallions positioned at upper and lower right. |
