| Obverse description | Printed in orange-red on cream watermarked paper, the obverse is divided into three vertical panels: the left panel carries the Bavarian lozenge shield within an ornate letterpress guilloche border with the denomination '1.000.000 Mark' repeated vertically; the central panel bears the heading 'Zahlungsanweisung' in decorative Fraktur script, the value legend 'Eine Million Mark' in large display type, and the full authorizing text of the Stadtrat Regensburg with issue date of 20 August 1923, closed by a facsimile mayoral signature and the printer's imprint; the right panel mirrors the left, substituting the Regensburg city coat of arms — a key and crossbones on a divided shield — within a matching guilloche border. |
