| Obverse description | Printed in dark purple on cream paper, the note is framed by an ornate letterpress border of interlocking floral and foliate rosette corner ornaments. A large oval guilloche underprint carries a repeating text pattern of the issuing district names. The denomination EINE MILLION MARK is set in bold Gothic type at centre, with the numeral value M 1,000,000 to the left and a red serial number to the right; below runs a block of German text detailing the backing by Reichsschatzanweisungen, the issuing date of 3. August 1923, multiple manuscript signatures of the Landräte und Mitglieder der Kreisausschüsse, and the institutional endorsements of the Vereinigung der Industriellen von Düren u. Umgegend e.V. and Handelskammer Stolberg. |
