| 裏面の説明 | A facing bust of the celebrated Turkish dermatologist Hulusi Behcet is rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, depicted in a suit and tie with a naturalistic portrait style. The legend 'HULUSI BEHCET' curves along the lower left periphery and the birth and death dates '1889-1948' continue along the lower right, together forming a semicircular inscription around the base of the portrait. The field is otherwise plain, lending prominence to the effigy. |

Hulusi Behçet identified the disease bearing his name in 1937 after years of observing a triad of symptoms — oral ulcers, genital ulcers, and uveitis — that had eluded consistent diagnosis across European medicine. Turkish authorities were notably aggressive in commemorating scientific figures through the high-inflation coinage of the 1990s, issuing silver million-lira pieces as collector items precisely because the denomination had become meaningless in daily commerce. By 1996, annual inflation in Turkey was running above 80 percent.
