| 裏面の説明 | A multicolour commemorative vignette at right illustrates cavalry soldiers charging across a hillside, evoking the decisive 1821 Battle of Carabobo. At left, an engraved view of the Arco de Carabobo monument is accompanied by the Venezuelan coat of arms, all set over a pale guilloche ground. The bold '200 AÑOS — Batalla de Carabobo' logotype runs across the lower portion, with the denomination '1 MILLÓN DE BOLÍVARES' at lower right. |

Venezuela's hyperinflation crisis forced this denomination into existence — the one-million bolívar note was issued as part of the "bolívar soberano" series, itself a currency that had already lopped six zeroes off the preceding bolívar fuerte in 2018. By the time this note entered circulation in late 2020, it was worth roughly twenty-five US cents at the official rate and falling fast. The printing was handled domestically at the Casa de la Moneda facility in Maracay, unusual given that Venezuela had previously relied heavily on foreign security printers like De La Rue and Giesecke+Devrient as its own infrastructure deteriorated.
The security specification is notably thin for a denomination this high — a basic thread and watermark, with none of the optically variable ink or color-shifting elements common on high-value notes from stable economies.
