| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse is dominated by a large engraved vignette of the Hauptmarkt (Main Market) of Trier as it appeared in 1649, rendered in a fine linear style with St. Gangolf's church tower rising prominently in the background and the Steipe building to the right, the square animated with period figures, horse-drawn carriages and market activity. The vignette is framed by an orange floral-scroll border with stylised flower motifs at the lateral margins. The caption "Hauptmarkt anno 1649" is inscribed in Gothic script within an ornamental cartouche along the lower edge, and an artist's signature "Quans" appears in the lower right of the vignette. |
