The series designation "REIHE A" appears at upper left, and the serial number is printed in red at upper right, with two facsimile signatures below accompanied by the titles "Amtshauptmann" and "für die Bezirksfinanzverwaltung"; the approval legend "Zugelassen vom Reichsfinanzministerium" runs across the top margin.

Opmerkingen

One of the more obscure issuing authorities from the German hyperinflation emergency — the Bezirksverband der Amtshauptmannschaft Dresden-Neustadt was a rural district administrative body, not a bank, and had no business printing currency. Like hundreds of similar local authorities in 1923, it was forced into the role simply because the Reichsbank could not produce notes fast enough to keep pace with collapsing purchasing power. A billion marks, once unimaginable, was by late 1923 barely enough for a loaf of bread.

Printed locally by Johannes Pässler in Dresden-Neustadt, this is genuine Notgeld of the hyperinflation peak — district-level emergency paper that circulated briefly and lost all practical value within weeks of issue.
