Hell Bank Notes are ritual paper offerings burned during Chinese funerary and ancestral rites, ensuring the deceased have currency in the afterlife. The issuing authority — here rendered as "Heaven and Earth Bank Limited" — is a fiction, as are all such institutions on ghost money. No regulatory body, no reserve requirement, no exchange rate with anything.
The quadrillion-denomination figure is purely competitive inflation: as offerings from other families grow larger, printers escalate to keep pace. Ritual logic, not monetary.
