0 Real Santos Dumont

The "0 Real Santos Dumont" is a commemorative polymer note issued to mark the centenary of Alberto Santos Dumont's death — he died by suicide in 1932, reportedly distressed that aviation had become a weapon of war. The face denomination of zero is technically legal but non-transactional; the note exists purely as a collector piece, continuing a Banco Central tradition of zero-denomination commemoratives that began with the 0 Real Hummingbird note in 2010.

Printed on Guardian polymer substrate, the production run was capped and distributed through direct purchase from the Banco Central, not through normal banking channels.
