Opmerkingen

The zero-pound note is a deliberately absurdist format that has found a surprisingly durable niche in British souvenir publishing since Thomas Pruski's The Peoples' Note Company popularized the concept. These are legal-look novelty items, not legal tender — but they are printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire, the same French security printer responsible for genuine banknotes across dozens of jurisdictions, which gives them a tactile authenticity that cheaper tourist paper cannot match.

The choice of Oberthur is what separates this from gift-shop ephemera. Collectors of modern fiscal paper occasionally track the series for exactly that reason.
