Euroscope's "0 Euro" memo series occupies an odd commercial niche — legal in the sense that no denomination is claimed, collectible by design, and produced by one of Europe's most technically capable security printers. Royal Joh. Enschedé has been printing currency and securities in Haarlem since the early eighteenth century, so the choice of printer here is not incidental; the security substrate and features are genuine, even if the monetary value is not.
Zaanse Schans, the open-air museum site on the Zaan river north of Amsterdam, was assembled from relocated historic structures beginning in the 1960s. The Mayor's mansion dated to 1734 — one of the older buildings in the ensemble.
