Memo Euro notes are novelty items produced for educational and promotional use — they carry no monetary value and are not legal tender in any jurisdiction. This piece, printed by Royal Joh. Enschedé in Haarlem, benefits from a printer with a serious pedigree: the firm has been producing banknotes and security documents since 1703, and their involvement lends a degree of production quality well above typical souvenir ephemera.
Scheveningen, the coastal district of The Hague, has housed SEA LIFE Scheveningen since 1994 — one of the longer-running aquarium attractions in the Netherlands. The Memo Euro format was widely adopted by European tourist attractions in the 2010s and 2020s as a collectible with just enough banknote aesthetics to interest casual collectors without entering regulated currency territory.
